The CVWD drainage system includes a system of 21 miles of open channel agricultural drains and 166 miles of underground drain pipeline, which convey agricultural subsurface drainage water from on-farm subsurface drainage systems to the Coachella Valley stormwater channel and/or the Salton Sea.
