Nonpotable water shall be the customer’s primary source of irrigation water and shall be used to the maximum extent practical, subject, however, to the requirement that in the irrigation of golf courses and related landscaping, at least 80 percent of said irrigation in a fiscal year shall be with nonpotable water.

The requirement to use 80 percent nonpotable water recognizes that the customer may use up to 20 percent potable and/or groundwater for purposes determined necessary by the customer. If the customer meets the 80 percent nonpotable requirement, CVWD considers this to have met the maximum extent practical condition.
