A. Installation and Maintenance. Interceptors/separators shall be provided when, in the opinion of the general manager, they are necessary for the proper handling of liquid wastes containing grease in excessive amounts, or any flammable wastes, sand, or other harmful ingredients; except that such interceptors/separators shall not be required for dwelling units. All interceptors/separators shall be of a type and capacity approved by the general manager, and shall be located as to be readily and easily accessible for cleaning and inspection. Interceptors/separators shall be maintained in continuously efficient operation at all times by the customer and at customer’s expense.

B. Sampling. Interceptors/separators shall be sampled at the sample station immediately downstream of the interceptor/separator.

C. Plan Checking. CVWD will review and check the drawings and specifications for interceptors/separators, prior to approval, at the applicant’s expense, as provided for in CVWDC 4.05.200. (Ord. 1427.5 § 9-5, 2023)
