Effective January 1, 2011, residential fire sprinklers are required by California Residential Code, Title 24, Part 2.5 for new construction.

A. General Provisions. A single permanent service connection shall provide water service for both the domestic water and residential fire sprinkler portions of the customer service line. The customer will provide the district with the required domestic water and residential fire sprinkler water demands and minimum pressures at the time of application for service. The district will size the single permanent service connection to meet these demands and pressure requirements.

B. Special Provisions. A reduced pressure backflow device will be required when the premises are also served by a nonpotable water source.

C. Termination of Service. The district may terminate service in accordance with CVWDC 3.05.310 , Termination of domestic water service. The district is not liable for damage which may result from said termination of service. (Ord. 1399.16 § 10-7, 2023)
